Richard (Dick) Cross

Richard Stephen Cross, 82, of Farmington and Chebeague Island, Maine died Feb. 14 in Port St. Lucie, Fla. after suffering another stroke.

He was born in New Britain and was a graduate of New Britain High School, Hebron Academy and Dartmouth College. After serving for three years in the Army, he began his banking career from which he retired in 1993.

He resided in Bristol for many years where he was active in the First Congregational Church, Exchange Club and Mum Festival. Dick loved sports and enjoyed volunteering for Edgewood Little League and Midget Football. He also loved music and sang with the church choirs and Bristol Choral Society. He moved to Farmington in 2000.

He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Ed Gormley of Florida; daughter, Lynne Boyer of Florida; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Deborah Cross of W. Simsbury; sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Bob Cika of Madison; grandchildren, Mary Denehy, Colin, Brennan and Meghan Cross; and several nieces and nephews.

Dick’s favorite place in the world was the front porch on Chebeague.

There will be agraveside interment service for Dick Cross on Friday, July 7th at 4:30. All are welcome.
